Each month our Good Stewards receive a copy of “Boot Prints;” an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for the month of November is Zach Hacker! Zach is a Communications Manager and works from our headquarters in Albert Lea. He has been with Good Steward Consulting since May of 2023. Learn more about him below!
Q: What does being a Good Steward mean to you?
A: Being a Good Steward, to me, means having a deep appreciation and love for the rural way of life and those who choose to live it. It means you are a skilled communicator and you want to use that ability to help your host communities and your planet thrive, now and in the future.
Q: What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: I was in a “hip-hop” dance class from third through sixth grade.
Q: What do you think makes our team culture unique?
A: Everyone seems to genuinely like one another, making it much easier to work and communicate toward a common goal. Everyone recognizes each other’s talents and appreciates what each of their teammates bring to the table.
Q: How did you get started in the industry?
A: I worked as a newspaper editor/reporter for 15 years and was ready for a change. Perusing Indeed one day, I saw a job posting for an Assistant Communications Manager (now Communications Associate). Upon looking into GSC and what the company/job was all about, it sort of checked all of the boxes for what I wanted in the next stage of my career. I threw my hat in the ring and here I am!
Q: What do you enjoy most about working here?
A: The people. Coworkers, landowners, clients and whoever else, we get to work with some amazing people.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: “Tulsa’s Last Magician” by Willi Carlisle.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: Cage dive with Great White Sharks off the coast of either South Africa or New Zealand. They are amazing creatures!
Congratulations, Zach!
Stay tuned for next month's Boot Prints Employee Spotlight!
