Each month our Good Stewards receive a copy of “Boot Prints;” an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for the month of January is Madelaine Thorburn! Madelaine is a Communications Associate and works from her home in Minnesota. She joined Good Steward Consulting in November. Learn more about her below!
Q: What does being a Good Steward mean to you?
A: Being a Good Steward means advocating for individuals, communities, and the land by sharing evidence-based information that helps landowners make informed decisions for themselves, their families, and their surroundings
Q: What is your favorite part of working at our company?
A: My favorite part of working at Good Steward Consulting is the sense of camaraderie. I enjoy collaborating on team projects and engaging with coworkers, clients, and community members throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far?
A: I’m proud of every step in my career, as each one has brought me closer to my dream job at Good Steward Consulting.
Q: How long have you been with the company?
A: I’ve been with the company since November 11, 2024. In just one month, I’ve already traveled to southern Indiana and Illinois and contributed to several projects.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
A: I would tell my younger self that persevering through challenges will provide valuable perspective and experience, ultimately guiding me down the right path.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A: I would love to fly. I’m a big fan of maps, so being able to see a place from above sounds incredibly freeing. Although, I’ll pass on skydiving—no need to jump out of a perfectly good plane!
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: The last song I listened to was "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" by Taylor Swift. While I don’t have a broken heart, the song’s message of persevering through tough times resonates with me.
Thanks for being on the team, Madelaine!
